Taking a look at 10 God of War bosses Geralt and Ciri should be able to defeat, provided they are given time to prepare
Geralt of Rivia has defeated strigas, specters, higher vampires, and even dragons in the brutal world of The Witcher. He is unmatched in tactics, alchemy, and swordsmanship. But when it comes to the God of War universe, most enemies exist in a whole different league. Gods, titans, and cursed immortals dominate the battlefield with sheer force and near-invulnerability. Alone, Geralt of Rivia wouldn’t stand a chance against many of them. After all, a Witcher is just an enhanced and well-trained human. But combined with Ciri, a child of the Elder Blood who can teleport, slow time, and shift through dimensions, there are a few God of War villains they just might be able to take down together. Here’s a look at 10 God of War bosses they could realistically defeat, ranked from weakest to strongest.
10. Modi (God of War 2018)
Modi is the son of Thor and relies on brutal lightning attacks and a powerful mace. The Witchers could beat him by dodging his erratic charges and using Quen to block shocks while Ciri blinks in and out to land precision strikes.
9. Magni (God of War 2018)
Magni, another son of Thor, is larger and stronger than Modi but not particularly strategic. Geralt could wear him down with Aard to stagger him and Thunderbolt potions for enhanced strikes, while Ciri distracts with quick teleport attacks.
8. Cyclops (God of War series)
The one-eyed giants appear in multiple God of War games, known for raw strength and ground-smashing power. Their size is a weakness against the Witchers, who can use Yrden to slow its movement. Ciri’s speed is going to turn useful in this fight.
7. Cerberus (God of War III)
This three-headed hound breathes fire and summons packs of hellhounds in battle. Geralt would cast Igni and bombs and scatter the lesser beasts, while Ciri could target each head from behind with teleportation-assisted strikes.
6. Hydra (God of War)
A massive sea serpent with regenerating heads, the Hydra guards the seas in Kratos’s first adventure.
Geralt has slain dragons so this would definitely be possible for him. He would go for the Hydra King’s main head using Aard and Igni, while Ciri slices the other heads before they grow back.
5. Medusa (God of War)
The petrifying Gorgon Queen uses her stare and teleportation to trap and shatter her enemies. With Yrden and Axii to dispel illusions and Samum bombs to block line of sight, the Witchers could defeat her by avoiding her gaze and take her down. For Ciri, with her teleportation powers, it shouldn’t be too difficult.
4. The Furies (God of War: Ascension)
Megaera, Tisiphone, and Alecto use illusions, transformations, and summons to torment Kratos. Geralt and Ciri could counter them with Witcher Signs like Axii to disrupt illusions and Igni against their demonic summons.
3. Morpheus (God of War: Chains of Olympus)
The god of dreams never appears physically but casts the world into magical slumber with shadow beings. Ciri’s Elder Blood abilities and Geralt’s potions would keep them awake and aware, while Yrden traps and Igni could reveal and burn away his illusions.
2. Helios (God of War III)
This fight is now going to be a real challenge. The sun god Helios rains down fire and blinding light from his chariot. Geralt could use smoke bombs and Quen to shield against the light, while Ciri teleports to flank and land strikes as soon as Helios becomes vulnerable. However, her strikes might not be enough to defeat, so they can weaken him till Ciri can teleport him to a different dimension where it is extremely cold and his powers would fade naturally.
1. Baldur- The Strongest Among God of War bosses (God of War 2018)
Let’s face it: in a one-one-one fight without preparation, Geralt would be destroyed in seconds. With rapid healing and invulnerability, Baldur is nearly unstoppable. Even Kratos struggles against him. Until his curse is broken at least. Ciri’s precision and Geralt’s knowledge of magical weaknesses could expose his flaw, allowing them to turn the fight against him or at least prolong it till help arrives. With her Elder Blood powers, Ciri should also be able to just teleport him to a different dimmension.
While most God of War bosses remain far beyond the reach of any mortal, Geralt and Ciri’s combined skills make a few fights winnable. With Witcher tactics, alchemy, Signs, and Elder Blood magic working together, even some God of War villains would meet their match. These ten God of War bosses might not go down easily, but they would fall all the same.
